Secondary Solidarity Picnic

Sivrice Huyuk Is Not Alone

As members of the Alevi-Bektashi Community living in the Midwest region of the United States, we organized a protest front of Chicago Consulate to protest AKP government’s efforts to use Syrain Refugees’ pligth as a weapon of demographic warfare against the Alevis in Turkey.
We believe this project is aimed to implement a demographic and cultural transformation of related regions as part of a larger assimilation directed towards Alevi-Bektashis.
MACC will continue to work with other Alevi-Bektashi organizations in North America to stand against AKP government’s discriminatory practices.

Dear Friends,

As members of the Alevi-Bektashi Community living in the Midwest region of
the United States, we are coming together to express our growing concern
about the Turkish government’s effort to establish container cities for
Syrian refugees in a handful of remaining Alevi enclaves in central
Anatolia.

We believe this project is aimed to implement a demographic and cultural
transformation of related regions as part of a larger assimilation
directed towards Alevi-Bektashis.

Join our event to stand against AKP government’s discriminatory practices
and to support religious and cultural freedoms of Alevis.
